Vantara, an animal rescue and rehabilitation facility under the Reliance Group, has filed an application before the Supreme Court disclosing a voluntary 12-month moratorium on applying for animal imports, effective from June 5, 2026.

Vantara, an animal rescue and rehabilitation facility managed by the Reliance Group and based in Jamnagar, filed an application before the Supreme Court on August 19, 2026, placing on record a detailed representation submitted to the CITES Management Authority of India (CMA India). In the application, Vantara announced a self-imposed moratorium on applying for the import of animals to its facility, which took effect internally on June 5, 2026 β the date of its last physical import of animals.
