A petition has been filed before the Supreme Court of India seeking the removal of Manan Kumar Mishra from the position of Chairman of the Bar Council of India (BCI). The petition, filed by advocate Yogamaya MG through counsel Deepak Prakash, contends that Mishra’s uninterrupted tenure exceeds the statutory limit prescribed under BCI Rule 12(2), which caps the chairman’s term at two years.
